I am interested in some comments from everyone.
If a manufacturer did these in n-scale, would you buy them, and how many?

I would be interested in a half-dozen to a dozen for cement loading, but not at the price point shown in that link. My check-writing hand gets real shaky at $25/car.

Hi all,
Sorry if this is a bit of a repost.
The search for me at least, did not show this topic was brought up before.
For something that would be new tooling, if all the details were included, it would almost have to be close to $25 retail.
Of course with all the outlets available, that price should translate to less than $20 per car.

And that certainly makes sense. The current "gold standard" for a recent high-quality mass-produced car with fine details would be the BLMA PS-4000, and it is at the same $25/<$20 you suggest.

There is a reputable manufacturer other than MT that has expressed interest in producing the PD3000. I got the drawings from Rail Yard Models and passed them on to this manufacturer, which has done some initial exploration. I vaguely remember him mentioning them not to long ago too, but that's all there is to say unless he speaks up.

Nope. I would not buy a single one.  They are not in my time period (through 1956).  I would prefer some transition-era cars (I really don't care what they are).
