Good stuff Richie!

This is me 2 months ago:

And 2 days ago:

The only way I was happy with the dirt was to dry brush it with paint the color of dried dirt:

This is all just the ground cover base. And today I (gulp) opened up a box of super trees...

Anyone know what is going on with the atlas forum?  They seem to do this every so often.

Great work so far!! 8)

I had an offer for some time on a laser, so I created an accurate truss bridge for my Z Scale Gorre & Daphetid.

It was my first ever laser design, and amazingly it was perfect the first time.

That's amazing stuff so far David.  I really hope that track doesn't end up tarnishing the finish on that layout.

Don't really know, or care .. but it's probably a technical issue ..

David, that is really good for a first time!! Is it possible to be an a$$hat for being that lucky?  ;D ;D

I'm in the middle of working on my excursion fleet. Mostly repaints and relettering into SP for something to run for the general public. Mostly Bachmann cars with a couple of shortened Rivarossi and a WoT on the way.

Power to be provided by an Black Widow painted GP9 or two...

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I tweaked the backdrop behind the Peace River bridge a bit.  I had never been entirely happy with the rather forced way the river retreated into the distance.  I wanted to optimize the perspective for this primary viewpoint at the end of a future peninsula.  I repainted the north bank roughly parallel to the south bank and dramatically widened the painted river to reflect the impressive width of the real Peace River.  Now the model scene looks a lot more like the prototype scene.

The bridge spans were permanently mounted to the piers earlier today.  A large soldered 10ft long unit of flex track complete with feeders at each end and superelevation on the curved approaches will shortly be installed into the bridge deck permanently after over a year of temporary trackage.

Also put in some more time on the 60 footers.  A few coats of primer and some sanding and filling underway.

For some reason I can't post tonight. The posting box automatically scrolls on me after ten lines of text. I had a really nice story to go with these plus some proto photo's but I'm tired of fighting with the forum software - it's not my computer, I tried on three units.. so here's some pics of my Penn Central attempts; I spent the week "going green" - not how I wanted to show you but it's all the site will allow.

Here's a proto photo....

I like this one.......

Sorry; but I've been trying to type text for over 30 minutes and after a few lines it scrolls out of control... had this whole nice thing about modeling out of your comfort zone but frankly I'm too tired to fight the software bug........no idea why this happens to me on Railwire now and then but it's frustrating.
There, it just started again...........to hell with it.

Edit: I have now changed the web addy for Railwire in my address book, re-loaded and the problem goes away......don't ask me why... no other changes....
