I based it on a 1920's vintage photo... pre-game room.

been busy working out the last bits of the benchwork.  i'm thinking of doing some work on the layout tonight.  i changed the plan slightly.  it's no longer the WM in Connellsville, it's now the Western Pacific in the Feather River Canyon.

I'll lay odds that he changes his mind when he gets to (even thinking about) constructing the bridge.

How on earth do you go from complacency on rolling stock availability for your original choice of railroad with a focus on industrial ops to the WM and its still obvious ops potential but easier modelability, to the WP? The portion of which you've chosen to model is pure mainline really, very little industry around the canyon. Not to mention that WP-specific equipment, especially pre-painted equipment, is not exactly out there in quantities making it easy to model the WP. It boggles the mind. Not to mention it makes me reconsider my choice of the WP. You've given it cooties now.
