Here on the Shore we just throw one of the youngins out in the yard as bait.  Keeps them skeeters busy so we can get the yardwork done...

Steve, I think you're going to have fun with that.  It's a well thought-out layout and I like the "scope" of ops; could keep one guy or a small crew busy.

Nice vid. Now we just need to see the rest of the layout :) But I think we need to work on the name "Western Maryland in my Basement" doesn't roll off the tongue very well!

don't want it confused with Lee's WM in his attic :)

I like the way it ties together all the interchange opportunities.  One thought would be to have the local switching on the PLE and use the freighthouse there as part of the view block.

It would be nice if you could find a way to include the truly iconic Connellsville Viaduct and the station with the tower somehow to really cement the sense of place.

can't have everything - as it is, i'm compressing two places on the railroad into a single location.  there isn't much room on the west main after the yard before it heads into the tunnel.

overall, i'm pleased with the plan and it couldn't have come together without the help of TRW and esp. David K. Smith.

The cartographer aims to please. Really good to see it all coming together at last. Seeing a train or two running will make it all worth the effort.

the fruits of tonight's efforts:

a little rehashing of some info from yesterday to make the video a complete overview.  now if i only had an editing suite, i'd be busy doing the video, and not working on the layout :)

If you're running Windows, you should Windows Movie Maker under the hood somewhere.

I dug around and found this old gem last night:

Look familiar?  It's Bill's Place in Little Orleans, rendered in shirt box cardboard with xerox windows.  It used to stand sentinal at 15 mile Creek on the original WMRHS N scale layout in Union Bridge...

Thought you'd like that.
