If you want to know the truth, my head just exploded when I came across a collection of photos by a fellow named Seth Gaines. He has published over 33,000 photos on Flickr, most of them of architecture. He's been to every state in the US, and covered some of Europe and Japan. His photo sets of American towns constitute one of the most fascinating resources of American architecture I've ever found online. I could spend many hours sifting through them, and I'd want to model nearly all of it.

Chris, from your second picture, a very interesting caption:

"Terrific clouds this evening and a return to one of my favorite landmarks - the J.C. Blair building, a former tablet factory. The taller part is now apartments and the lower part houses a motor company. The taller is the older section and was build up around a church. Incorporated it right into the infrastrucutre. Was once the tallest building between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. More fodder for Photoshop, unfortunately, but fun learning bit by bit. Digital photo. (2008)"

I just happened to have the American Hardware kit laid out all over my workbench. The back of the building is very different from the front. Here is the back of an HO kit (looks just like my N)

Just sayin' if you plan to use the kit you might need 2 or 3 to get what you want. The sides match the front so at least you'll have those to work with.

Clearing the way for a new industry.  Looks like there's not as much room as I though for a huge factory.  I may use the Middlesex Manufacturing for a bit and see how it goes.

The mountain itself is fine...  It will be trimmed down a bit in height and modified to fit the new track/industry arrangement.

I'd suggest entertaining the possibility of raising the elevation of the industry and siding to add more interest to that scene and make the industry; it might also make the building a little more imposing. Maybe add a low stone wall running along the side of the roadway so that the industry property can still run right up against it.
