Make the rear wall that is flush with the other wall a different product like concrete to make it look "after the fact"

Wut?

Any thoughts on the floating loading doors on the left?

Fill them in with scraps of cinderblock sheet or brick. Or, hack up the walls and rearrange the sections to do away with them.

Considering that.

Also, I'd bring the building forward so the walls are flush with the retaining wall. A lot of these old industries didn't waste a square foot.

That's the plan.

Oh, and an American Hardware Supply is en route.  I'll leave room for a compressed version of it.  I could even angle it if necessary to clear the siding.  However, I am most definitely doing what Chris showed, i.e., the two tower pieces bracketing a short wall section.

After taking this photo I filled in the tie gap at the code 80/55 transition at the bottom.

There's a very slight grade...  Backing uphill through that reverse curve will be fun.  Maybe cars consigned for JC Blair & Co are blocked at the head end.

Looks real good so far. Almost looks like there is room for another (dare I say) rail customer or even a spur for the same company to load other cars or types. Maybe a track for a single or two coal cars for a small power plant for the mill? I do like how it looks more open.

See?  Tearing out Code 80 and replacing it with Code 55 is easy.

Backed a 6-car mixture of short boxcars and 65' mill gons with heavy loads and mixed body/truck mount couplers up the siding with a GP7.  Not stalls, no derailments.

Luv the curve around the tower Dave.

I think that adds a lot of visual interest (along with the elevation change).
