I remember when Hogtrainz opened Pete put an announcement on the BLW website that if someone was looking for H0 versions of all the wonderful models he carried in N scale to go to how brother's new website catering to the larger scales.

That is very sad news for me.  Outside of Athearn Pete got all of my pre order business. Not sure what I will do now.  I do order from wig-wag for Athearn and the occasional odd item so there is that.  I like MBKLIEN for instock items.  I wish they pre-ordered.

I suspect that Hogtrains will work just like BLW and take reservation. But unlike BLW which was exclusively N scale, the new site will be multi-scale.

If you looking for alternatives, there is nscaledivision.com (which I have ordered and pre-ordered from) and nscalesupply.com (I have not dealt with them).

Hog trains selling out of preorders so fast on the atlas passenger cars makes me very skeptical. Seems more like typical HO BS to me.  Last 2-3 orders I have submitted to Nscale supply simply evaporated. I got an email confirmation and then no product and no response to my emails asking for an update.

My LHS takes pre-orders and usually lists 10% below retail.  Pre-orders have had up to 25% off, especially on Athearn or Intermountain.  You can sign up for email newsletters/mailing list on their website.  Searching the website is cumbersome at best though. Great people to work with.

Pre-orders aren't listed on their site.  I usually just send them an email and ask them if they can get the items I'm looking for.  Plus while you're add it, I'd check on their shipping costs.  It's free over $200 but don't know what they charge otherwise

Thanks, Ryan! I was coming up empty on the other suggested site. Oh well, I'd rather toss some business to a TRW member, anyway. (Checked Fifer's site earlier; no pre-orders?) Will definitely be ordering through Chulvis ... as soon as I figure out exactly what I need.

Too bad Pete wasn't turning the place over to one of his kids (assuming he has any). Much rather see a younger replacement with the same dedication both to service and N scale,  so BLW could go on another 30 years.
Hopefully the attention to HO stuff doesn't eclipse or limit the N items at their new home.
