Micro-Trains Oct Releases

The October releases are announced and there seems to be a wild card. The second Conrail family tree car says it is an ex Lehigh Valley boxcar but the image is a roached ex Erie car with roofwalks. I am hoping the text is correct and the image is wrong.

The text on the Micro-News pdf is different and matches the EL / ex-Erie image.

Thank you, James. It’s a pretty neat looking car. Would love to know if there’s a prototype photo. A car with a roofwalk is an interesting choice, but CR did have them.

Hmmm... if they want to crank out PS1s, why not paint and letter them for PS1s?  New Haven had 1000 10'6" PS1s (if my info is correct)- I'm sure one or two of those wore a paint scheme worthy of MTL paint.

And don't forget, there's that series of EL cars that went to the LV before Conrail. Athearn did a model of them and I've got one that folks drool over.

Yeah, also a hard pass on this one. It’s not a reprint either as they’ve never released the oversized block herald scheme. They are limited for the most part to NH script herald cars for authentic 40’ PS-1 schemes. A small handful were repainted boxcar red with block heralds and only one was repainted red-orange. None of them were repainted in black.

Have you ever sent MTL photos of freight cars that you would want them to make?

Would having the CRHS commission special run cars be a viable option?

That interior weathering and graffiti tho. Definitely some next level detail. A little queasy about 60 bucks for a kit but if you wanna roll with the ballers you gotta put down big chips.
