I probably have enough A.R.T. reefers, but this one intrigues me (can't find any BUDX proto photos).

https://micro-trains.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=235&product_id=5732

No BUDX here: http://www.railgoat.railfan.net/other_cars/1private/american_refrigerator_transit/american_refrigerator_transit.htm

UPDATE, cannot find any BUDX cars on any of the ART rosters I have. However, I found a 1966 proto photo of the one MTL did, BUDX 91553 on page 51 of the March 1989 issue of Model Railroading (available here: https://magazines.scaletrains.com/view.php?m=MRG&f=mrg_198903.pdf&p=1)

Looks like the UP/SP repaint might be an interesting candidate for the graffiti shop, err I mean weathering shop. Photo from that site that rejects lots of @Ed Kapuscinski's submissions for esoteric reasons.  :D

Close: https://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/photos/cr-60828

And don't forget, there's that series of EL cars that went to the LV before Conrail. Athearn did a model of them and I've got one that folks drool over.

Found It.

Interesting they chose to do an Erie Car as an EL Car..

I'm guessing we'll see one of these..

How do those 3 boxcars not have correct reporting marks?

Hey Peter-

You won't see that as several major railroads' license contracts prohibit manufacturers from putting graffiti on cars bearing their service marks. more's the pity.

George, looks like a pretty easy self weathering project with some good paint brushes and acrylic markers.

???

If your referencing the photo of the EL /Erie car..
The center car was patched for EL without a repaint.
The PRR car didn't get a full PRR or PC Repaint even though it went through the shop (Replaced door and COTS stencil)
The other Erie car probably had either an EL or ERIE initial behind the rust.

My guess is the 3 cars are on the way to the scrap line. (although they were not white lined yet).

For me, I find it interesting that all three are double door box cars.

Have you ever sent MTL photos of freight cars that you would want them to make?

Would having the CRHS commission special run cars be a viable option?

All the time! Actually, I built them an entire website for that very purpose. Well, kinda... https://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/galleries/conrail-freight-cars

It could be. But Micro-Trains actually makes lots of stuff that I need anyway. I don't really need to put in requests. I just hate seeing opportunities like this be missed.

I thought it was illegal to not have correct reporting marks. I know the old logos and stuff can stay. Like how the green Penn Central car says "CR" on it because that is the new owner.

I model pre-mergers  :P

Also when those people spray graffiti down a whole car side, even they know not to cover the reporting marks.

For cars to be legal for interchange service.. sure..

This equipment is clearly NOT legal for interchange.. (Roof Walks, Friction Bearing Trucks, ect..) as long as it's safe to move and stays on the owner road then it's fair game.

However.. notice they ALL have ACI Car ID tags (and I now see that Micro-Trains left that detail off  :( )

If I knew all three were being produced I would buy them just to make this lashup.
