No modeling for me, (what's new?) but I got a wonderful birthday treat from my daughter Amy in California with a visit to the Roaring Camp and Tall Trees near Santa Cruz.

Felton is one of my favorite spots on the planet! The redwood groves are incredible - and steam helps too! Enjoy your trip!

and get pelted by tire rubber :)

We actually didn’t get any rubber, Dega doesn’t really wear tires. All the green flag stops were gas and go’s.

I get the perception of cars going in circles, and the Superspeedways certainly produce that a bit more, but stock cars do actually have some great battles and racing, a la sports cars, touring cars, Aussie V8’s etc. about the only series that really lacks actual racing and is just a bunch of engineers seeing who’s smarter is F1; the only passing there happens on pit road!

However, my wife picked me up from the airport and I had zero time for trains this weekend because I finally got to go to my first NASCAR race, and if it wasn’t going to be my home state track Darlington it had to be the biggest spectacle, Talladega!! Our seats were in row 17, and they had the MRN/track announcers and a LED screen to show the whole race, but let me tell you, you don’t just hear the cars going by, you feel it in your chest that close!

I know exactly what you mean....

I had tickets for BOTH of the Season, Nascar Races in Brooklyn, Michigan in the 1988 thru 1994 Season's

After recording Rob Spangler and Rick Sutton, I've made some progress on the backdrop. On the podcast, Rick talks about the battle between photo backdrops and painted ones.

Finally getting around to fixing up my Bernal, NM Free-moN module. It had a small incident after the Amherst train show in January which required some repairs after some moderate damage to the module. New signals have been installed, the code line has been replaced and scenery touched up. I just need to re-add some trees to the module and it'll be ready for Ohio N Scale Weekend next month.
