I’ve been working on this NW5 for a couple months now and happy to be able to post it.
The model was developed and printed by a friend in the Twin Cities area. He did a remarkable job engineering this incorporating a modified LifeLike SW mech and a printed insert to extend the length and retain the rear truck. It uses stock L/L trucks but with printed truck frames that snap over the gear case completely replacing the originals. It’s intended to use the stock motor and just extend the rear worm shaft. I converted it to a 7x16 coreless and slim worms (thanks Russ) to make room above the motor for a LokSound Nano. This is the same technique as my earlier SW9 sound installations. It also has an Iowa Scaled Engineering powerkeeper in the stock light board location and an 8x12 speaker in the cab.
Paint is TruColor and decals are the Microscale GN RS1 set. I did make the cab numbers and short hood numbers. Lights are 0201 behind canopy glue lenses. Window glazing is .005 clear styrene.
It’s been quite a fun build.

This is a little bit bulky, but is a Nn3 caboose/combine.

Awesome build, Jim! Looks fantastic! Glad the worms were put to good use (I knew they would be! ;))

Appropriately for Easter Monday,  I held a "resurrection" op session after an eleven month hiatus.  All of the work on the turnout mechanisms, track cleaning, vacuuming and wheel cleaning paid off with a remarkably trouble-free session.

In the wee hours of the morning, M-630s 710 and 717 arrive in Chetwynd with the Vancouver-Peace freight:

Work Extra 584 passes through the recently renovated backdrop portal into Septimus:

The empty ballast train was taken down to Sundance for reloading, and is seen here passing through Tremblay:

RS-3s No. 570 and 567 cross the Pine River with the eastbound Dawson Creek Switcher:

Thanks to friends Michael, David and Nolan for attending.

Pretty much finished painting the area that I’ve added the foam board to. Need to landscape next to the upper level tracks after they are in.

.

I needed an entrance into my coal mine so went to Fusion for that. Love Fusion and how easy and fast it is to do something like this.

Use my resin printer a lot but also still use the Ender 3 Pro a lot, especially for a project like this.  Would be hard to give up either one of them.

The mine building in the image was all printed with the Ender 3 Pro.  I'll print some detail for it with the resin printer.

More info on the coal mine ( HERE ) .

More info on the above on Railwire ( HERE ) .

Continuing to add equipment to my 1947 RBBB circus train:

Got some new 3d prints in the mail this week.

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

First up is a D6 cat known on the circus as a "doughnut" as the tracks have been replaced by large wheels.  This conversion was done by a company in Florida and used mostly for the sugar cane fields.

A couple of Mack trucks; the big one is for the big top canvas and the smaller one was used for storage and to pull wagons from the train to the lot.

The bandstand wagon where the musicians played to accompany the acts during the circus performance. Panels on each side would flip up to triple the space for the musicians. Notice the different levels for better acoustics under the tent.

Another canvas truck and three more wagons taking shape. The green ones are for the dining department (commissary).

My favorite South Jersey N-Scale show: The Atlantic County 4-H "N-Scale Gathering" (today and tomorrow).

N-Trak, T-Trak, and Free-mo and it was rumored that Ed Kapuscinski was there signing autographs.
