Cleaned track and wheels on the N Scale Colorado Midland and ran it for the first time in...maybe a year? Possibly longer.

I finished up my first BN Snowdozer. These were built by the GN car shops in St.Cloud, MN and are still in service with the BNSF. I used a Baldylox Designs kit and detailed it up a bit. I added brass grab irons, the front window guards, airhorn, and chains. I’m happy with how it turned out

Great modeling this week! How could a magazine ever compete with this forum!?

Dave, your fantastic scenery never ceases to amaze and, Karl, that Snowdozer is gorgeous! :o

I wrapped up the Z-scale X67 hi-cube boxcar.  Pretty massive even in Z.. and updated the artwork for decals.

Speaking of decals, I started working on more CR gondolas for another modeler:

My dad scratchbuilt a caboose in O scale back when he was 15.  We're talking over 50 years ago.

Well, with my foray into O, I'm working on a rehab project.

As it emerged from storage... O scale models assembled with Walthers Goo are in a perpetual state of disassebly.  In this case the small parts that made up the cupola were laying in a pile.

While Dad lettered it to be Milwaukee Road, to go with a steam engine he had, he didn't recall what railroad the actual plans were.  To my eye, it's CB&Q.

So first we deal with the shrunken wood and fill some gaps.

Then the question is, can we blend current tech with 50+ year old models?  In this case, CB&Q cupolas weren't scribed wood, but sheathed.  So some drawings from the Q caboose book and a print later...

And some refreshed paint and decals... this might work!

I think Mike that in this case blending the 50-year-old modeling technique with 3D printing worked out really well. That caboose looks good!
Do I also spy an nold ad for a mid-80s Dodge Shelby in the background?  My GF owned a more pedestrian version she called "Chargette".  :)

Good eye, I've had a couple Shelby Chargers over the years.

Good eye, I've had a couple Shelby Chargers over the years.

Cool vintage cars.  While performance-wise those couldn't hold a candle to today's cars, in those days they were pretty hot.

Got CR 2 fully printed.  Grab iron installation needed on both CR 1 and CR 2 before painting.
