Don't use the "feed." Just go to the pages you want to see.
For example, I've been watching the East Broad Top re-laying track to Saltillo in real time by checking in on their Facebook page. Same for the folks rebuilding the former DSP&P/C&S yard at Como, CO.
Facebook's feed is crap, yes. At no point do I want to be misconstrued as advocating for Facebook's "feed" format. I mainly ignore the feed and just bounce around the various groups and pages that matter to me.
But every now and then the feed will actually recommend another railroad or model railroading page I've never heard of that ends up being a great fit.
You can downvote me all you want for speaking up on behalf of the content on social media, but please make a distinction between the
content and the
format. I'm advocating for the former
in spite of the latter. I don't find it ideal as a consumer either. But I find it ridiculously easy to use as a content creator. I often take a photo on the layout and have it shared in 3 different Facebook groups in a matter of seconds.
