The first batch of N scale buses by specialty manufacturer Iconic Replicas has been posted. The debut model is an MCI D4505 intercity bus.

It is a good modern bus seen in many parts of the county.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Thank you Daniel!  It looks like the prototypes were produced from 2005 to 2022, although there was an "overhaul" in 2014.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MCI_D-Series

I'm very glad to see they decided to pull the trigger and enter the N scale market.  Hopefully they will include more vintage models in their N scale plans.

That is a great news!  I hope these diecast metal models will look better than the typical Classic Metalworks N scale vehicles with crude soft details.

Does anyone know when the Greyhound Neoclassic paint scheme first appeared on these buses? I think it was 2009, but I am not sure of that.

I did find a photo of a Greyhound MCI D4500 G4500 bus that dates back to around 2000 2001.  While the MCI D4500 G4500 bus looks very similar to the MCI D4505, the paint scheme on the D4500 G4500 is not the Neoclassic paint scheme.

Here is the scanned photo of the Greyhound MCI G4500. The caption for the photo stated that this bus was delivered in 2001, and was in a new paint scheme.

Edited for correction to prototype model designation and to add the scanned photo.

If they bring those 1952 vintage Brill buses to N scale, I'm definitely in. For any of us with urban layouts, buses are a necessity.

Walthers has added the MDC D4505 buses to their web site, and the list price appears to be $29.95.  https://www.walthers.com/iconic_replicas?productListFilters=scale%3AN%20Scale

Also of interest, Walthers is showing part numbers for another N scale bus from Iconic Replicas, the NFI Xcelsior XN40.

This one apparently.  New in HO also.

Oooooh wow, exciting! Glad to see more manufacturers - especially vehicle manufacturers - expand into N!

I already own one of their New Flyer transit buses in HO as a display model (it's in my local transit agency's livery, that's why I bought it). Hope to see them do modern transit buses in N eventually!

Looks like John Madden's first MaddenCruiser tour bus is available in HO. That way you can have him going to a big NFL game on your layout.

I just got an email blast from my LHS on some N scale items coming out and pre-orders for Iconic Replicas 1:160 buses(!)

Iconic Replicas is a Florida-based company that has been releasing die-cast buses, trucks, cars and firetrucks in 1:87, 1:64, 1:50 and 1:43 scale, and have recently announced some of their buses in 1:160 scale for the very first time!

These are modern (as in currently in use) transit and intercity coach buses, ETA May/June 2025! The N scale bus models coming out are:

NFI Xcelsior XN40: Undecorated White, Undecorated yellow stripe, Los Angeles Metro, New York City MTA

MCI D4505: GO Transit, FlixBus, Greyhound, Greyhound Canada

I already own one of their NFI Xcelsior Los Angeles Metro buses in HO scale as a display model since it's my city's transit system, Now I want to get one in N scale plus a blank white one for my layout's town!
