Guess who has two thumbs and finally built a kit? This guy! And with finally having bought some proper tools to keep glue joints square, it turned out a lot better than past attempts. Fortunately the lighting hides the gator skin on the paint job. This will be the main building for 84 Lumber on the layout; I’ve got a second Pikestuff kit to build for it as well. Might eventually build a larger warehouse for this, but right now this will do nicely.

Jumping full force down the rabbit hole of 3D printing.  Anycubic Mono 4K on the left, Ender 3 on the right.  Anycubic Wash and Cure station on the way.





I set up the Ender 3 today and was having issues getting the filament stick to the build plate.  It was loose to start, then stuck for layer and half.  Then whole thing come undone.  Until the printer head stopped moving after aborting the print, this is what I ended up with.  For some reason, I thought of the Railwire

This big lug was a wooden test mock up for the styrene build.

I would just cover it with styrene now and be done with it ..

I'd just sand down the obvious saw cuts like in that one corner and hit it with filler. The rough finish overall captures aged concrete pretty well. Maybe replace the door hardware with styrene.

Finished laying track for the switching layout, ties & rails are painted, wiring finished. Testing placement of structures I have built so far - none of the structures are painted yet.
