After a six month break, I’ve started easing back into the RBB&B circus consist. After an excessively tedious session, the boom hook has been added to the Cat D4 crane and the boom cables have been rigged. This payload should be finished by the weekend, which will complete another flatcar.

That's friggin' amazing Bryan!  There are seldom really small decals on it, and all those painted details.  Do you wear an Optivisor for this?   
You really should do a "Peteski" and take a photo of it sitting on a coin for size reference, because it is hard to imagine how small that model is.

The cables look nicely in-scale.  What did you use.

AK Interactive's hyper-thin stretch rigging.  The hook was tougher than the rigging.  I will be happy when this one is complete.  That's a #00-90 brass screw in the base being used as the clamp pedestal, for reference.

Had to make a drop-off at O'Hare airport today and had plenty of time on my hands... Which means it's time for a Chicagoland Hobby Shop Trek!!!

I went to Des Plaines, America's Best in Itasca (a new find of mine), Grayland Station, and Chicagoland Hobbies.  Had a very successful procurement of rolling stock!  I also stocked up on paint and various other parts.

The best part... the pervious photos were a print from this morning. After a few tweaks I now have all the gearing figured out and even figured out how to do the pick-ups. All this was about 5 prints throughout the day to get it just right. This is the latest print from tonight.

Whoa Nelly!  Chris, this is simply GREAT!  Aside from the printed body, which is great all by itself, I really like the integrated pickup wires.  That is indeed much like a Kato tender.  Just add weight, and each wire will keep the two sides of an axle pressed down to the rails, but spring-loaded and floating.  That wire looks maybe a little heavy?  Unless you are going to be able to fit lots of grams of tungsten in there.  That bugger is going to work.

The wire is .0125" PB, but we'll see how it works when I get off my  and finish it.
