I put a few scale miles on my new N&W Y6b. Fortunately for me, mine seems to be running like a Swiss watch!

Testing my new all FVM/Scale Trains set with semi-scale wheelsets.
So far so good. More on the Product Discussion FVM thread.
Hard to get the whole train in the pic...

Not a lot of modelling this week. But was able to make a pilgrimage to see two bridges in my prototype. My is swimming at the Candian University Swimming Championships in Victoria BC this weekend and I came out by myself to watch. In between sessions today I had 5 hours free to myself and so my sister and I hiked to the Niagara And Arbutus Canyon bridges, and the only tunnel on the E&N. i was able to get some photos that I can never find on the web and take a few measurements. It was an epic hike and a once in a life time opportunity for me!

First try on a 3D HOn30 EBT motor car:

Made the body walls thicker and will remove the roof to glue it on later.

Wow!  Remember Chris when you used to send your designs to Shapeways, then pay for the prints and wait for them to arrive in the mail?  Not anymore!  And no more 'FUD fuzz" to deal with!  You've come a long way baby!   :)

Funny story, I ordered some ARM ballast and they told me they literally have to
go the site and get the chunks they break up. The Flinstones are real.

Working on a scratch build of a construction/debris load facility.  There is one along I95 in S. Philly that catches my attention.  Still a lot of weathering needed as well as trash to load.

Just got home from the first Monroe WA train show in three years; had to make it a quick visit to get back home before the snowstorm which is now upon us.

More work on the Sundance/Bond section this week; after completing the new track and wiring for Bond last week, I am now working on Sundance, which began with lifting all of the track due to damage and a desire to effect a realignment.  Here is the layout section after lifting the Sundance trackage:

I also got down to work on my three MLW M-420s.  The mechanisms were modified to accept the new carbodies and the sideframes were removed from the trucks:

The printed parts for the carbodies were de-sprued, sanded and dressed to fit together well.  Here are the parts for one of three locomotives:

The best part... the pervious photos were a print from this morning. After a few tweaks I now have all the gearing figured out and even figured out how to do the pick-ups. All this was about 5 prints throughout the day to get it just right. This is the latest print from tonight.

Beautiful work Chris!

While not modeling related, my girlfriend gave me something I think is extremely cool. She had this large blanket made from a photo I took of my SW1 models on a module outdoors.
