Work got in the way today, but did manage to cut some OSB to cover atop the storage cabinet.

Last weekend the N scale Colorado Midland had its public debut at a train show down in Pueblo, CO:



At the same show I managed to score a Precision Scale Co HOn3 Rio Grande Southern T-19 4-6-0 #20 in brass for an embarrassingly low price (like half the eBay pricce). She had never even been run! So I took her on a break-in spin around the RGS First District:

OSB in my area at least is only $15 a sheet.  Plus, this was leftover from last year's addition project, so no added cost 😁

It is usually like 5 bucks a sheet. OSB is traded on the stock market. That is why it went so high. They sell OSB futures.

This past week saw new trackage laid along the Fort St. John Subdivision extension and through the wall:








A test train was run from the Highway 97 section through the backdrop and along the wall to the opening, using a DC power pack connected to the track bus:

My task during this coming week is to get the command bus, auxiliary bus and track bus run along the shelf, and tie in the feeder wires.

This past weekend our PGE-BCR Modellers Group participated in the first Sea To Sky Model Train Show at the Railway Museum of British Columbia In Squamish.  The show was well attended and we had four HO Scale and seven N Scale modellers team up for our display.

Tim:  I cut similar holes for my layout.  Good to see that you lined your tunnels!  One of my fears was losing something down inside the wall, so mine were lined as soon as I had them cut.

Don't think so...  The next TECO show is in the Springs, though.

Tim:  I cut similar holes for my layout.  Good to see that you lined your tunnels!  One of my fears was losing something down inside the wall, so mine were lined as soon as I had them cut.

Yes I was concerned about this, but as it turned out there is a stud to one side of the opening and an old cable box on the other, and the baseboard carrying the tracks through the wall fill the void completely.  I will install a backdrop behind the track as it emerges into the bedroom, and possibly something above to prevent anything landing on the track.

My recent efforts in ballasting and the completion of the beer distributor’s warehouse have got me much closer to a finished looking scene on the Aberdeen side of the layout.  Oh, there’s still much to do, as evidenced by the picture below: structures, foliage to the right against the yet to be installed fascia, trees behind the city buildings, detail work, weathering, etc.  But, I’m getting there.

Here, it’s 1980, and the southbound Amtrak Silver Star is highballing through Aberdeen, North Carolina, on the Seaboard Coast Line main.  In the distance, we spot Aberdeen & Rockfish GP7 No. 205 (“John Blue”) trundling into its western terminus to interchange with the SCL.

President Adams gets a headlight!  ConCor offered the Capitol Limited set with a Rivarossi Pacific that featured a headlight mounted at the top of the smoke box.  Unfortunately, they did not provide a lens or a bulb.  So after a little drilling and adjusting, I got one installed.  I may yet upgrade it to an LED,  because like me, it's not very bright.

I shot some photos of my Kato U30C's pulling a coal drag on my layout and one of my modules.

These are custom painted and weathered using Polyscale paints and Microscale decals.

The BN hopper still need to be weathered.....
