Haphazard continuation of work on my recent car project: kingpin work. Due to the thinness of the end units' decks, I chose to drill the decks for 00-90 and tap them. Per recommendation from @peteski (worked like a charm!), I shortened each screw with the use of a piece of metal drilled and tapped for 00-90 and a dremel. The next problem has been that MTL kingpins, when used in concert with the screws, leave the screw heads proud of the kingpin and preclude the use of the center axle. Thus, each kingpin has to be shortened to be flush with the top of the truck, drilled and tapped for 00-90, and then countersunk with a 3/32" bit to allow the screw head to be flush with the bottom of the kingpin. Finally, installation of my standard ESM 33" wheelset.
