Well, I'm disappointed.  Wish Kato had come out with it first.  I use DC so the cost and extras are not worth the price.  Also, I would have to run them by themselves as I can't MU them with any of my DC only locos.

O well, I really did want these so will probably get a couple. 

I have 3 of the originals, (2 low hoods and 1 high hood).   They howl and grind but do they ever pull.

Ditto. I'll thump my usual dead horse on TRW and express my discontent with BLI's "sound or nothing" policies. I will also pick up a couple for entirely too much money and do laryngectomies on both. No choice, they now "own" the RSD-15 franchise in N scale; too low of a demand for anybody else to offer a competing version.

this is a good thing...Just having something newer than those old, old models will be welcome.  I will have to swallow hard for the $300 price tag though.  Maybe I can dump all my C&O and Conrail stuff to pay for one.  LOL

Had they decorated a high nose version as an AT&SF RSD7, I might break down and buy one.  Maybe in the second run, if it happens.

Given their fixation with sound, and the pricing in gold ounces,  you would think that the least they could do if they are going to market the RSD15 as an RSD7 is put the correct sound file in the RSD7.  But they make no mention of it, so I assume not.

I don't know what (if any) visual difference there is between an RSD7 and a high nose RSD15 (I would guess maybe exhaust? or cooling fans?).  But I can state from actual experiences that a 244 engine does not sound like a 251.  And shouldn't a 244 come with a smoke unit?

Hmmm. They’re doing CP RSD17 8921. It’s the only one they had and it was nicknamed the “Empress of Agincourt” because it spent most of its life around Agincourt yard in Toronto. It’ll probably have the American style number boards and was strictly an eastern engine, so not for me. It was chop nosed in later life so they could do a CP Rail version…

considering that The Southern Pacific owned three, and they had four different road numbers, it is surprising that they would use one that was only used for four years...they were hated by the SP management, The SP made them heavy switchers in 1973 and got rid of them before 1980, the SSW vacated them after only twelve years.
