considering that The Southern Pacific owned three, and they had four different road numbers, it is surprising that they would use one that was only used for four years...they were hated by the SP management, The SP made them heavy switchers in 1973 and got rid of them before 1980, the SSW vacated them after only twelve years.
Wait.... I've been in the cab of GBW 2407, what an experience, during one of the IRM members days. If you think everything rattles on an old Alco S2, this is about 4X the racket. And that's a 16-cylinder 251. But a 16-cylinder 244? Yeah, that might be extinct as an operable engine.https://www.irm.org/cgi-bin/rsearch.cgi?diesel=Green+Bay+&+Western=2407
Something else I noticed from that photo, you could probably use the last 2 CSX family releases, as they both have SCL reporting marks. If you didn't get them already
I got the second to last one. I haven't gotten the most recent (yet). Mostly because I'm realizing I have recently accumulated a LOT of former ACL/SAL/SCL equipment and think I'm hitting my quota.
If you are willing to do some modelbuilding....... accurate models of different versions of the ATSF RSD-15 (also a SP version) and the ATSF RSD-7 are available quite a long time from WWW.ATSFNSCALEMODELS.COM.DC or DCC with or without sound (your choice) on a great pulling/running modified Atlas C628/630 chassis.Dirk Jan Blikkendaalinfo@atsfnscalemodels.com
On another note, what do you think will be the approx. price at let's say MBK?One dealer here in Germany has them already listed for 299,95 Euro which is about $ 337.25Here are the prices for a SD 40-2.BLI: $ 259.99MBK: $ 207.99German dealer: 279,95 Euro / $ 314.76
This very interesting and tempting. I need to find out which LS&I units were the ATSF ones.Thomas
Is that including the European VAT? Even if you get them from USA, then you have to pay shipping and customs duty, correct?
