Man, in my Pennsy days, I would have jumped on these like a duck on a June bug.
I may still buy one, even though I have no idea what I'd do with it except run it around the layout every once in a while because it looks cool.

I model modern day, then I got a T1 (and a spare) and Broadway Limited set. Of course I'll need a GG1 as spare motive power. the K4 came later, and then the BLI P70 coaches and an SW1. With so much "ye olde time" motive power, it only makes sense to get a turntable and add a roundhouse.

Now there's a P5a, K4 semi-streamlined, and what started as a minor side-hobby is quickly taking over my layout.

So uh, when are the H10s' coming out? Because I need at least 2

I am amazed that nobody has commented on the June 24 Broadway Limited Imports “Broadway Live” .  I know that there has been weather in Florida but has anybody heard if there is going to be or was a presentation?

I'd like a nice updated RSD15, but from just about anybody but BLI, after their PA1 performed so poorly on my layout - derailing and poor electrical pickup.   If I can handle a Hallmark 4-8-4 without derailing anything, I don't expect a PA1 to repeatedly pile up.   Mind you both the Kato and Life-Like PA1's don't have such issues.

So even if there were full-page ads tomorrow and a YouTube teaser, I still wouldn't reserve one, until one of my friends drags one over and I'd see it perform.   Then maybe.    I'm like Charlie Brown with the football though...maybe this time...

I own 4 BLI PA1s they all run great on my layout?   I did replace the traction tire wheels with regular ones.

I have three bli pa. One runs really well, one runs ok and one barely runs. I had another that ran decent but sold it. Same thing with the two f units I have. One runs really well and the other, not so much. I also have a pair of e8 but I've not really got to run them on the layout. Oh and I had a pair of centipedes but we all know how that turned out. I need to spend some time with these locos to see if I can fine tune them to get them to run well. I’m not quite convinced that it simply isn’t the decoder that is the problem with these.

I ran an ABA set of PAs on the MinNiModUTrak layout pulling a full CZ all day with no problems at all.  They had the pointed axle/cup pickups....did BLI revert to the hole in the pickup plate blunt axle that the factory likes because it is easier to build?  That pickup scheme causes problems.

I'm just saying I have to see one perform first before I'd buy one.   

I've been very impressed watching their PRR steam at train shows, so I know it's not all bad.   I could be convinced.

I think the best air horn sound in N scale I've ever heard was out of a BLI E-6 running at Altoona, so convincing I actually got up to look out the back door as I thought it was an actual train passing.

I've had the privilege of cab-riding the surviving operational ex-ATSF RSD15 at the Illinois Railway Museum, and if they pick up the sound from that one, including all the shutters rattling, that could break down any resistance rather quickly...

First startup at IRM.... sound you hear is the EMD switcher, then they start the Alco up...

I would think that it would be straight forward to stamp the outline of the part and the axle cups all in one process. Maybe a multi part die, but still not too complicated. Setting up a drill operation strikes me as more expensive, maybe the holes are stamped through, which would be the cheapest easiest option.

Blanking and forming can occur in one tool strike, so the cost of making the part is the same. Fitting a point into a cone or a cylinder into a hole during the assembly process is the same.

As such there is no reason to not use a cone for better performance when faced with either choice.
