Please, please do the 1C / EMC 511/512!!
Good for Demo in three paint schemes including Warbonnet!!  Haven’t compared to B&O / Alton before the scraper front end was applied but it should also be close.

If an F unit is a “Bulldog”, this would have to be a “pug”. Superior work however.

Beautiful job on what was probably the ugliest diesel to ever wear AT&SF paint.  I don't have it all in front of me, but my recollection is the 2nd unit went through even more rebuilds than the first.  Something like B-B boxcab, to B1-B bulldog, to B1-1B bulldog, to B unit, to freight/transfer boxcab.  And in some books, the 1953 trade in to EMD is referred to as a "rebuild" to E8m. So that might make 1 more (although I can't see much beyond the wheels and steam generator as being useful in the new loco).

Great addition to what is becoming a premier product line for AT&SF modelers.

If you use the left and right arrows on Mike's link, you also get photos of the B&O boxcab, the ATSF boxcabs in original form, and the "re-nosed" ATSF look.  BTW, the caption under the revised ATSF unit is incorrect, the train in the photo is neither the Chief or Super Chief, it is the Kansas Cityan/Chicagoan.  The consist is recognizable (see Frailey's consist book). OOPS...Not enough coffee.  Make that the "Coach, Smoker and Chair Car Geneology", by John McCall, pp 182ff for the original consists of the various Budd built ATSF streamliners.  Frailey has the post-war consists.

Charley,  I understand your interest/plea but sorry........ for the time being no 1C/511/512 from me....
Reason is quite simple: 1C/511/512 were build by GE in PA, Amos and Andy by St Louis Car Co.
The only thing they really had in common are the window arrangement, basic form and some parts of the sides.
The roof contour and slanted/square noses are very different so that would mean a big redesign (costly)of the present shell.
I can re-use (for the biggest part) the bulldog for the B unit, for 2611 and for Amos and Andy..... thats a better proposition for me and these will appear in due time.
The trucks/drives are different of course but thats been solved already.
BTW: the final model will have smaller rivets all over..... the present ones are simply too big... I was a bit surprised how these looked in the bigger pictures after priming the shell.
