Thank you, everybody.  I plan on ordering some, but haven't had the chance, as we've been offline for the last week.  At that, we're luckier than many in the area, as we only lost power for two days.  Telephone, Internet, and TV are much easier to do without than electricity!  We do have a kerosene heater, and a well-insulated home, so it wasn't bad, just inconvenient.

Nate,

That there is a purty train.  Nice work on your Texas Special.

OK, order sent.  I was going to reserve one of the GN 48-seat coaches, but the drawing was of an NP 56-seat car, so I'll wait to see if they do the correct GN model.  If they do, I'll order at least one.  If not, I already have stand-ins, so don't need another one!

I hope he does the SP&S "Columbia" dining car.  It was an occasional visitor in the early Amtrak Empire Builder, so I can use it in Montana.

I just received my set of 3 NP coaches - new tooling!   They're gorgeous (although this photo is not):

Are those NP coaches the first non-Walthers lightweight cars from Railsmith or have there been others?

Thanks,
-Mark

I believe they are the first new lightweight body style from Railsmith.  They appear to be designed very similarly to the ex-Walthers cars.

My NP and SPS coaches just arrived!  I need to get to the layout and open them up and check them out.

It's Looking like Lowell is going to have the NCL before Kato does.

Both cars look really nice, just like my previous purchases. I just wish he would have sold the NP cars so I could buy 2, not one or three.

Yes the NP Coaches are new tooling. Just received a huge order of cars some I have had on back order. The cars are a bit hard to get out of the cases, it is like they are vacuum sealed once you let some of the air out you can remove the lid. The newly tooled NP car has the inset entry door on the platform end like the prototype, only Rapido also has this detail, KATO has no entry door inside the platform, but is open. The new cars have the closest coupling I have seen on an N Scale car it even beats out Rapido, but coupled together cars track through switches with no problem. The rest of my order had Illinois Central coaches, the old smooth side coach tooling, but nicely painted, striped and lettered. Then I received a Frisco heavyweight R P O in red and silver shadow lining decorated by Micro Trains, really outstanding as is the smooth side PRR sleeper also in a Micro Trains Frisco Shadow Line scheme with Pennsylvania on the letterboard and lastly a Texas Special smooth side sleeper in this scheme with TS on the letterboards. Well done, Lowell Smith trains and Micro Trains.        Nate Goodman (Nato).

Thank you!  Sounds like I will be well pleased with mine.

If you plan on opening and closing the box often, I wonder if it would work to drill a small hole in the bottom, to allow the pressure to equalize?

Just saw a post on FB about new Rock Island cars.  Coach and sleeper 2-packs.  I don't remember this getting posted here.
