I have seen real turnouts like that before, but forget why. Maybe couple swing.

The SP would "kick out" the diverging route to allow the placement of a signal (usually a H-2 Searchlight). That "kick out"
would be a bit more gradual, but it is noticeable.

Not worth the trouble of a new photo post, but it was fixed in about 2 seconds by nudging one of the PC board ties a hair over. But glad you guys made a stink, because during that I noticed when my eye was against the track that one of the joints on the Diverging outside curve had kinked in the traditional fashion and I was able to resolder it before it caused any phantom issues down the road.
