3D Pennsy S2 Steam Turbine build.

Have two friends printing quite a lot of 3Ded steamers and diesels.
This one for the S2 has quite a lot more and has an Ebay store.

Engine chassis used is the Spectrum Class J as its the only one with side rods closest to what the S2 used.
Tender chassis used is a Bachmann long haul chassis shrortened as well as center section of weight cut out for splice plate as well as being able to reverse one set of trucks for both side electrical pickup and adding the Class J's tender electronics. Bachmann metal drawbar was also used.

Did do quite a lot of changing on the origional 3D prints for a more prototype appearence.
Made my own forward and reverse turbines, added highly detailed pumps, built and added the generator and other detail parts, etc.
3ded door ladders removed and brass ladders added. All side hand rails, door rails, duel turbine throttle linkages, both side plumbing and others made from brass and bronze wire.

Also built his Pennsy S1 using a highly converted BLI T1 which I will also post, I used the same Pennsy decals on the tender for the S2.
Also both six axle end trucks on both the S2 and S1 were 3D printed.

Smoke deflectors are removable in order to run before they were added.

This is really some excellent work!  The 3D-printed shell helps a lot, but when it's all put together like this, it's easy to forget all the piping and details you had to put on the outside (even though you mentioned that).  Do you have any photos of this thing before you painted it?

Yes, have quite a lot of build pictures, will see if I can post a few.
For each engine he 3D prints, I first build it, then wright up a "How To" as well as pictures so he can send a copy along with each 3D print he sells.

Besides building his S2 and S1, I have also built his SF Full-skirted Blue Goose and NYC Commodore Vanderbilt.
Right now we're working together on many more streamlined steamers from other railroads like the Lehigh Valley Black Diamond, NYC Mercury, UP 49er in both the Mountain and Pacific versions as well as others.

The other guy I got hooked up with printed the C&O 12 Hudson I'm building now, and also waiting for his C&O L1 Yellow Belly Hudson to build in both the yellow version and orange version.

You got my attention with the LV Black Diamond.  I was planning on doing it one day.  I have to do the Reading Crusader first.  I am working on a camelback right now.

Yeah, the Reading Crusader is another good one.
Lot out there that can be done.

You make a Camelback, lots of people will be interested in that one.

Both the separate forward and reverse turbine throttle linkages were controlled by the Engineer's control lever via a fluid pressure control system, also operated other items.

Yes, his names Robert.
Right now hes not showing any but tell him I sent you as he usually 3D prints his engines once somebody askes for them.
Beside the one shown he also has the UP A-B M10004 with side truck covers which uses the Tomytec TM-17 chassis, UP A-B E2's that uses Kato E9 chassis, SF Full-skirted Blue Goose for Con-Cor J3a chassis, NYC Commodore Vanderbilt for Con-Cor J3a chassis, and of course the Pennsy S1 and S2.
