WAIT, WHAT?!?! PLASTIC?!?!

Grrrr...Had I known, I would have bought some metal wheels along with my order. I guess I have some Rapido Trains 33" wheels still left over.

The car uses 36” wheels so Tangent or BLMA would be your best bet.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Finished going through all our cars today. Most were pretty simple tweaks. A few were beyond repair. The damage is coming from the cars sliding end to end in the nest. The nest vaccuform plastic was so thin a few of the cars punched through the nest and the railing caught on the plastic.

These cars are incredibly detailed and we'll worth the trouble. I set the best of the cars on the shelf and kept the worst for myself to fix when parts are available....

I put some Athearn 36" metal wheels (.540" axle) on one of mine, since that was all I had in my wheel storage box. The car tracks just fine.

Like @MetroRedLine I used whatever I had that would work.  Over the years I have accumulated a LOT of metal wheelsets.  I suspect what I ended up using were some old FVMs...and yes, .540.

Ditto.  I used FVM 3601's: 36" wheels, 0.540" axles.  Good luck finding any though...  I also removed the washer from the truck bolster and they seem to track just fine.

These are great cars.  I'm looking forward to the 17-post models in a few months.  JTC is an intermodal game changer.

I was saddened to learn Deluxe Innovations went out of business. But JTC certainly stepped up to fill that void, AND THEN SOME!

Way to go JTC!  Hope you do another run of these cars - I missed out, and so will be more vigilant next time!

In agreement with@ednadolski.  And since DI is out of the picture, a decent Maxi IV or another proto manufacturer's three unit articulated cars.

I thought FVM was working on them, but he's been silent for quite a while now...

JTC - aside from a few minor glitches - seems to have the right idea.  More power to 'em!

Matt's been working on containers.  There were a bunch of new ones the second week of July and an announcement of new ones 2 days ago (Aug 4th) on www.shopfvm.com web store.

As I recall, some time ago, someone stated that the DI Maxi IV tooling was not conferred to FVM because Intermountain had a financial stake in the original project and that the tooling for the ex V-Line / Loco-Motives ACF 2-Bay Covered Hoppers, the 53' trailers, and the RoadRailers was lost in China.
