Everything is wired and glued down at MG. Went to test things out with a centipede. See if you can spot the @Ed Kapuscinski !
Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Added another RGS-style water tank to the line.  This one is detailed, painted, and weathered to match photos of the Trout Lake tank, except that I put the ladder on the opposite side to fit the scene.  It sits just outside of Placerville in the only spot I have that it will fit and not confuse the scene.  Operationally, the RGS had two tanks between Placerville and Ophir (Deep Creek and Ames).  I'll call it Ames tank even though it's on the wrong side of the tracks.

Started a new build this week; got sides cut out, squared and sanded, and top chords cut and installed for six new cars:

Spent much of the week developing the "guts" for a device to create firefly effects. I will need to wait until scenery gets started before I can install it, but it's finished and works perfectly.

Then I turned my attention to a mechanical effect: turbine roof vents. These four animated vents will be installed in a factory building.

And finally, I made something I'd always wanted to model: an N Scale fluorescent shop light.

I have a lot of anachronistic vehicles in my town (mainly Woodland Scenics "Just Plug" lit-ups), which I've been able to adequately justify by way of the classic car show I staged on Main Street -

Unfortunately, I have no equally valid rationalizations to explain why there are so many 1954 Ford grain trucks running around at the adjacent grain elevator facility (apart from the fact that CMW covered wagons were the path of least resistance at the time).

Anyway, thusly called out by me, I went ahead and acquired some modern grain trailers from Shapeways, applied the requisite paint and decals, and then proceeded to retire a few of the major offenders -

Still a few more to go, but it's a start  :)

I occasionally finish stuff, a couple of recent projects that got done.

This is CGW hopper that I (tried) to change from a Atlas PS car to a car built by ACF. I replaced the roof and made it flush to the sides, changed the hatch locations, added the middle rib on the sides, changed the rails on the non full-ladder side. It’s got roller bearing trucks per CGW practice. It’s next to a stock Atlas car (except for a lowered roof walk).

I finally got all the decals needed to finish this MStL hopper. Kato hopper with the sides opened up. Tichy and Microscale decals

A couple of MStL reefers, Atlas cars. K4 URTX decals and custom MStL heralds.

For the first time in a while, I built a kit without modifying it. Some Walthers houses

Starting to fill a stableful-of-standpipes...the first 4

Two to unload loco diesel at Nelson, a multi-fuel pipe for one of the 6 dealers on the layout, and a pipe for delivering lube oil to the shops and removing waste oil for refining.

Have a great weekend!
