Two more container questions

Well... those are most likely 24' containers, so that's a small market. Really small market. The images I've seen of 20' Matson containers appear to be 80's or later (perhaps mid/late 70s at the earliest).

Man, you're killing my buzz.    I didn't even know 24footers were ever a thing and since I consider myself something of an intermodal expert I was doubting you ... Until I found Matt's page on them. 

Heck I might even be willing to go for some foobs on this.

Or make decals for Samusi01's Shapeways container.  I have one of them on order along with the Sea-Land 35 ft.  We're both working (separately) on our own decals for it, but of someone made a commercial set I'd be very happy to buy it.  The same goes for the early (50s-60s) Sea-Land scheme, done by Wheels of Time, but not as a stock item.

I went ahead and added the 24' sheet and post container I did years ago to Shapeways(https://www.shapeways.com/shops/samusi01). This one is based on images of a CB&Q 24' insulated box (sadly, the images - once at modelrailroading.wordpress.com - are no longer available, and I didn't think to grab them at the time). So it's not quite a Matson can but reasonably close. Down the road, I may go back and change the original model to add in front refrigeration details as found on this image at Matson's website:

I didn't know that the CB&Q ever owned containers, other than Flexi-Vans.  Learn something new every day!

Incidentally, Shapeways estimated a shipping date for my order of March 5.  Today they emailed that it was being shipped.  Feels strange to have something shipped early!  I'm not complaining...  I've only order from them once before, so this may be common, after dealing with years-delayed reservations...

The October 68 ORER shows the Q owning 148 insulated 24' containers, series 718700-718847. Other roads with containers include ATSF (585 in total, mostly Flexi-van), SOU, SP, etc. Most of what appears are trailers and Flexi-van type equipment. I'd love to get my hands on a 1970 copy of the Official Intermodal Equipment Register (first year it was published).

Interesting.  The CB&Q certainly never appeared in Pasco, at least when I was around the yard.  I wonder if they were in some dedicated service, or were an eastern US only thing?

Some follow-up questions:

1. Can you do the math for me to generate outer dimensions for side, front, and rear stars? Would include the outer field. (Apologies: I'd do it myself but I'm on a time crunch; incoming laserboard tomorrow, so I need to work on my feed lot)

2. Would you be after vector files - my preferred solution - or jpg files?

...and a statement: the words "Maersk Line" would take a while longer, as I'd need to figure out the font involved or create some letters from scratch.

Nice work! Too bad no ALPS any more (for white decals), so not sure where this will lead.

If you get them in vector format, Highball can print them.  they do custom decals, but ONLY in vector format.

My containers from Samusa01/Shapeways arrived Tuesday.  I haven't had a chance to do anything with them, and it's hard to see details on a transparent object, but they look good so far.  The floors fit fine.

They're made in "Smooth Fine Detail Plastic".  Anyone have any special comments on cleaning them? Do they need the fancy treatments FUD needed?  Or just a good alcohol wash and water rinse?
