Yes, that could come to pass.  I'll have to consult with @DKS about designing a coin operated controller! :D

At the Chuck E. Cheese in Augusta when I was a kid they had a token operated train layout. You put the token in, the train did a few laps, and then you got like 2 or 3 tickets. The question becomes what would be the best thing for the layout to give you in exchange for a token?

A ticket that says you can sleep inside.

First switch list is in the books.  Only had to go into the tunnel access once, and technically, that was before the job started.
I've got to call the Union, though.  The brake man keeps trying to eat the telegraph poles.

Happy Hi Railing!

Nice! Are the lights inside most buildings blue, or is the camera's white balance confused?

It's the camera. Here's a more accurate representation of the lighting:

Right tool for the job?!  Just pick the mini-layout up, turn it on its side, and dump the derailed rolling stock out.  Problem solved.  :D

Do it on your bed, or over a thick carpet, and the old rolling stock would take it fine.  Not like some of today's that will break if one sneezes on it.

At least we know it wasn’t a problem with the track work.  :D

A little Monday morning switching...

Only one way, though.  No working front coupler on the old Rivarossi switcher!

As has been reported elsewhere in these pages, the Newport and Rock Falls has secured a more functional if not permanent location in my office, adjacent to the slightly larger and slightly less retro HiRail layout.

After addressing @davefoxx 's concerns about its location in the sun, I thought I'd take a moment to ponder the wisdom of my choice.

I'll let you be the judge.  I am most grateful to have this work of art in my collection.
