RGS K-27 #455, fresh from its rebuild using standard gauge parts following the 1943 runaway wreck on Dallas Divide, enters Placerville with a southbound (railroad westbound) mixed freight in the early autumn of 1947. 



This was a quick grab while running trains this morning...  Train was in motion so it's neither crisp nor well-lit, but it gives you a sense of what "opping" on my RGS is like:



Based on the last pic I decided to bring 455 and her consist out to Windy Point and stage a photo and tweak the lighting:

Dave, your new layout makes me want to change scales and gauges! I rode the Cumbres & Toltec way back around 1995, and your layout - scenery, equipment, etc, reminds me so much of that trip. That your layout can evoke these memories, and that it looks so familiar (IMO) is testimony to how well you've replicated the scenery and geography of Colorado. Kudos, my friend. What a spectacular layout you're building!

That critter is a 12-15 ton Mack loco. There were 2 engine inside so those vents might have been the "smoke stacks", but on the roof looks like the radiators.

I went to a local narrow gauge show that was more standard gauge than narrow. There was a O:48 layout there and a few N scale layouts that looked like T-track. They had these laser cut boxes in different shapes:

There was a much larger t-track layout, but not much had scenery.

And found this critter from 2 Plymouth bodies

That critter looks much better than the original Plymouth.  It may have been prototypical, but always looked way to big to me.

My first hydrocal casting structure kit...
Basic painting of the Downtown Deco plaster structure kit is done (Adams Ave. II) now comes a bunch of detail painting before weathering washes! Per the guide, I'll be picking out random individual bricks in various shades. My intent, on all of the structures that will appear on my T-TRAK modules, is to model them as OOB (out-of-the-box) as possible; helping to showcase the structures as they are designed to appear as-built.

Since Wolf is working on his crawlers, I'll join the party.  Got all mine painted and ready for decals.  I did get decals on one of them; these little decals make my eyes go buggy after not very long so I have to take a break in between.  I should have them all done by tomorrow.  Next up, mounting them on the flats.
