Maybe not my most valued car, but my newest project. Picked up a holiday decorated X65 at the Springfield show and painted it into Conrail.

Aye, she started as one car. Then the project got - out - of - hand.

The crappy cell photos don't do the models justice. I need to break out my Canon 80D and shoot them proper.

Modified 1019. The box screw is flush mount. The screw on the box tab is standard lengh and anchors the coupler box, under frame and shell together.

In the late 90's, when I was an active member of the New Jersey Southern NTrak Club, I wanted a few pieces of rolling stock for the home road.  I made this 40' 1952 vintage boxcar from an Intermountain kit, replaced the roof walk with a Gold Metal Models metal roof walk, and lettered it with custom dry transfers from Greg Komar.

I made three road numbers of the car, then made a back-dated (1942) version without the logo and with slightly different lettering.

The club later decided to have some for members and to sell at shows, so we contracted with deLuxe Innovations for a custom lot (200, I think), with three new road numbers and updated to 1956, with a motto added.

I was sad when Greg Komar stopped making dry transfers.  He made a superb product, and no one has come along to fill the gap.  Likewise, the loss of deluxe Innovations custom work was disappointing.   They did great work, at reasonable prices, and required realistically sized minimum orders.  I haven't followed all the ups and downs of DI, so I don't actually know if they are or are not doing custom work under a new incarnation.

I second the Greg Komar comment. He made some GREAT NorthWestern Pacific transfers for me at a great price.
