Fox Valley posted on Facebook some future announcements, anyone know if the containers they show are the old Deluxe ones?

For one thing HO scales getting a much needed in N scale 60s/70s era bulkhead flat car from ST.

https://www.scaletrains.com/collections/rivet-counter-ho-scale-bsc-f68ah-bulkhead-flat-car

Practically, how is this different from the MTL version? Anyone remember what it's prototype is?

From their Facebook page, FVM has a new PS4000 coal gon (did someone else announce this recently too? or is this a re-new-announcement?)

As well as updates on their 53' containers and the former Deluxe container cooling:

Gotta say I'm pretty excited about the non-CIMC 53' containers - those x-posts etc are a very welcome addition.

The PS coal gons were sort of announced about 2 years ago or so by FVM, they had a sample of one at Milwaukee there was picture posted here I think. I'll be interested in these.

The ride height is bad and it maybe compressed length wise too, I only have one of them somewher in my collection would have to measure it, but it looks off for sure. Maybe someone here will know more about them.

I think it's compressed heightwise as well, as it was a hard car to fit decals on.

Different prototype. The ST car is "Bethlehem Steel Co. (BSC) F68-series of 100-ton, 68’ foot long (over end sills)"

I forget what the MTL car is (Thrall?) maybe 61'?

A fair amount of N scale news.

I heard that Modutrak did not attend this year.  What's the story?  I did not attend, but that would have been one of the best attractions.

Thanks Doug. Basically, the Modutrak group decided that we did not want to attend Trainfet this year because of the demand that we volunteer man hours to help run the show. No other shows we attend have this policy and there are plenty of others to choose from. We feel after bringing our layout from out of state, taking time off work for Friday setup, two nights of hotel expense and also three days of purchasing meals that we should not need to contribute any further. We enjoy promoting the hobby to a point but we also want to enjoy it ourselves by running trains on our layout and talking to the public. We did miss being at the show, whether others missed us is up for debate. Maybe we will be back, maybe we won't. We already have 4 shows lined up for 2019 and possibly a fifth. Next up for us will be MAD CITY 2019. Hope to see some of you there !

The MT bulkhead flat is shorter, which works for me, as both the GN and BN bought cars very similar to the MT version.  The MT lettering, at least on the first run, was incorrect, as it was based on the longer cars.  I've since repainted and relettered mine.

The longer version would be nice, though, as the BN also had those by 1974.  They were also common in interchange service, so a TTX (Trailer Train, back then) car would be well.

I was not aware of that policy for Trainfest.  The Modutrak layout is one the layouts that I look forward to seeing at Trainfest.  Good to know your guys will be at the Madison show.  I usually go to that show as well.

Good call Bill. Sometimes the fact of setting up a layout, running two days then stripping down and packing up a layout gets over looked by many. It is a lot of work. Then to be asked to do more on top is a bit rich I reccon.
Been there done that.
Have fun
Rod.

FVM didn't happen to mention their 50 ft double door MILW boxcar, did they?  It was announced as a future model a year or more back, but there have been a lot of things happen since then.

I wonder what the length on the Walthers bridge is. I couldn't make out the text on the card.
