Cool. What was the deal with the horse?

I served with the 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment in Iraq and completed all the tasks of the "Spur Ride" so they tacked on our combat spurs while sitting on a horse (or what in Iraq passes for a horse).  I'm actually an official cavalry trooper who's authorized to wear spurs and a Stetson.  If you do your spur ride in peacetime or garrison you don't get the actual spur wheels...those are reserved for those earned in combat operations.  So mine have the little spikey wheel things.

No modeling from me this weekend as yesterday I retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years and 7 months of service.  Doing the family and friends thing this weekend.

I finished the Binghamton Station kit. This is a Bergen National Laser kit. Well engineered but a couple of issues that I overcame with materials from my stash. Not happy with my assembly, but it's a shelf queen anyway -too big for my layout!  I used a caboose for perspective.

Thank you, and yes, EL paint with BCR cab numbers and logograms.  I have already modelled the only two C-425s to be repainted in 1977 (804 and 812), so this unit had to be another one still in EL paint.  I chose 807 because it retained the EL name on the carbody sides until repainting, and because it still had the Leslie horn in 1977.

I really like your PRR X28. Some very excellent modeling. Could you provide a few details about parts and methods used?

The B&O had a very similar box car, Class M-27, also an automobile car with 1-1/2 doors.

Thanks, Bob. It's all styrene sheet and strip for the most part. I found a scale drawing of the car online, and scaled a printout of the drawing so the measurements would match up with my N-scale ruler. That allowed me to take measurements right off the page. From there, I started with building the floor/frame making sure I got the deck and coupler height correct. I built a "box" from 0.040" styrene that sat on top of the floor to give it rigidity, then laminated 0.020" styrene onto that for the actual car sides, and went from there. I basically figured it out as I went, honestly.
