Hi all,

This was buried in another thread so here it is in all its glory: a video covering the features of our new N scale Dash 8-40CM.

Thanks for watching,

Jason

Hey, Jason - Thanks for sending Gareth to St. Louis for the RPM visit! We ( @Roger Holmes , Robyn and I) had a great chat with Gareth while we were loitering around admiring the new model.

And of course I asked him when we're going to see the Turbo!

You're just trying to get more views and see Gareth get fired over and over again for not pronouncing Quebec properly.

Sweet.  I saw a few west of Edmonton a few weeks ago, still working mainline trains.

Oh, yes. Practically a daily occurrence around here (CN mid-Illinois) including regular appearances in BCOL paint. I rarely venture into CN's yard here where they have their paint shop, but on the last check there was a queue of these and their GMD brethren waiting to get CN-ified.

Absolutely.

I actually had Richard Longpre - one of my best friends and a Francophone Quebercker - review the video before it went live to make sure my Quebec accent and approach were respectful. He told me he could barely email me because he was laughing so hard.

Being a Quebecker myself, I can take certain liberties.....

I thought it was hilarious.
I really do hope this does well for you. Even though I've never seen one come through Utah,  let alone in person I'm going to get one maybe even two. It is a work of beauty and really shows what can be done in n scale.
Thanks for all you do for the hobby and for preserving rail history.

Yeah this engine is coming at a bad time for me. I would love one. But my finances have been stretched really thin and the ST C39-8 is getting what little money I have.

It's a good time to be a CN modeler though. SD40-2 wide cabs. Briggs excellent kits. And all the cool things Rapido has been doing.

A GP40-2L would only work if we were doing a whole range of GMD 4-axle units. That's a large undertaking. Let me see what the final numbers are for the Dash 8 and then we can look at other model ranges.

So far the Dash 8 orders are good. It will be interesting to see which ends up selling more - the Dash 8 or the FL9.

Jason, speaking of oddball prototypes, would Rapido ever consider a LORAM Rail Grinder in N ? I don't think it's been ever done before in N and could fit many modern era layouts.

How are the QNS&L orders doing?  Any indication yet if it will have enough orders to make it?
