I am progressing on multiple fronts, today and from last weekend.

The CWR train, has had it's "Rail Handling Cars" decaled and Dullcoted.  I spent last sunday, "Filing" all of the spots on the racks that could be potential "Binding" spots, for the ribbon rail.  And also, have had the Trucks painted and metal wheels added.

The DOT cars have both been "Glosscoted".  While, DOTX 220 has had it's "Windows" painted-in.  I hope to work on the decal (for the Blue Band) this afternoon.

The 3D projects, (C40-8M and C39-8) are progressing.  After, breaking off BOTH of the "Stirrup Ladders" on the C40 for the third time.  I have abandoned the idea of sanding off the raster lines, on BOTH Models..  The C39 has gotten it's Conrail Blue coat and will get decaling, this afternoon.  The C40's color scheme is still up in the air.   True, the A/C units make it a CN-only model.   I would still love to try a BCR-themed color scheme.

Finally, I finished the assembling and decaling of a few of the many, Intermountain Cylindrical hopper kits.  That, I have had for many years...

Glad the Juanita found a good home.  Who is the gentleman in the photo?

C-130G that's a Navy bird.  The fuselage should be longer and a lot more metal hanging from the side.

Look forward to the new layouts progress.

That gentleman is among the most travelled of the Railwire asshats and the former owner of the Transcontinental PRR.

I'm not sure how the dog came into possession of the cab for one of my NS B40-8Ws but it didn't stand a chance.  Instead of my planned weathering of NS 4825 this weekend I'll be working on a new cab.

A little rust on the edges and scrape marks and you have the beginnings for a diesel facility gondola scrap load .  ;)

It was quite the weekend.

Yesterday was the "final" open house for my Windsor Street Yard layout (I say "final", but I think we'll play with it a few more times this summer before it comes down).

Some highlights.

Thank you to everyone who came by. It was wonderful having so many friends come see and take part in the insanity.

A little sad to learn of some well known and well executed Railwire layouts moving on; hopefully new layouts will take their place . . .

Another week and another control panel for Chetwynd Yard is now in place and operational.  This one controls the turnouts in the area of the mechanical shops:

In the foreground is a turnout for which I replaced the throw wire this past week, as it had somehow managed to jump out of the throw bar.  It has yet to be cut down.  In the background are RS-10 No. 581, M-630 No. 717 and RS-18s Nos. 613 and 607 on the shop tracks, or as we used to say in England, "on shed".  :)

With the panel for the Canfor mill now operational,  the Chetwynd yard engine went to work with the track cleaning car to polish the rails in the mill:

My new log loader for the mill has been put to work prior to its paint job, as I wanted to see if my articulating clamp could actually hold a log load in mid-air.

On to the north and south ladder control panels.

1) I will be waiting see your progress on the Schnabel Car.
2) What "Boxcar" are you using on the "UB"project.  AND You got "UB" decals???

Jerry G.

1) I’ll have the Schnabel painted later this week. The red and white are done, just black left now.
2) ExactRail Hi-Cubes. The friend I’m building them for procured the decals, and I didn’t ask how he came about them.

1)  Thanks!
2)  If I spent an half hour in (MS) Paint app, I could come close.. :D

The Schnabel has some paint on it now. I still have some more black to do, so this was just a loose texts fit (no bolster pins). I also need to paint the cab interiors so I can get them installed.
