I received an amazing package today...

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

It contained this amazing car that Josh has been working on for me for a long time now. It's an Eastern Seaboard Keyser Valley Caboose model that he's assembled, painted and weathered for me to match this prototype photo I've found of the real car in York.

http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/Images/CR-22005-at-Windsor-St-Yard-York-Pa
http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/Images/CR-9253-NW2-w-CR-N8-D-Caboose-22005-at-Windsor-St-Yard-%E2%80%93-York-Pa

I'm excited that I'm now able to replicate that scene.

Here it is (but backwards).

And lastly a quick closeup of the car.

As I said on Facebook, I am forever lucky to have friends who are better at this stuff than I am.

Paging @bbussey - looks like the Annual ESB Models Photo Contest just got a REALLY early start.

1. It's mostly Tom Mann's fault this took so long because FOR SOME REASON, he simply would NOT tell me how to better make streaks.
2. Hey Fat Fingers, you need to fix that ladder and glue it back to the roof!
3. Upvote THIS post instead of Ed's.
4. If Ed wins the ESM contest, I get the prize.
5. @bbussey is supposed to be there tomorrow! He's been part of the build process, so thanks to him for his help!
6. Ed has the hard on for that CR 22055 which is a different style caboose. He actually *wanted* me to number this different style caboose to THAT number. No, Ed! Bad Ed!
7. I based it off this picture. I think I got pretty close.

8. Streaks are a little heavy handed, but it still looks okay I think. Ed can live with it because he doesn't have standards and runs cabooses even though Conrail did not run them in '85.
9. I'm glad you like it! Tom says he's sorry it took so long.

Nicely built model Mr. Chicken, but I agree that, compared to that photo, the streaks are extremely heavy-handed!  Actually, that weathering looks like something I  would have ended up with if I attempted weathering.

Yeah. Plus Ed uses a darker blue base which I forgot to send back to him.
Anyways, the moral of this story is I’m a millennial and I blame Tom.

That looks great. If you want to practice streaks...I will be running a 'hands on' clinic at the NSE Convention in three weeks time. 20 places to try your hand at 'streaking' on one of N Scale Kits cars - and take it away with you too, if you want - and are happy with the results!

So the caboose makes Ed's layout just before the railroad is demolished and replaced by an HO one. I don't know if that's sad or uplifting.
