It's funny how the Google Streets AI censor blurred the Chemtrec stencil. Must've reasoned it was a license plate.

Carbon black is dusty but also greasy/sticky. Would explain the single-sided nature of the weathering.

I'm waffling on one.    I really wish there was the older car out there, because the paint scheme on the Cabot Spheron cars was just so unique:

It's not era specific.  Aside from the technology and plant site locations, interchange data from the 40's and 70's is presented, cars routing from the 60's.

I've never noticed one come through my area. How would one find out if they travel over you local rails even if they are a transient car? I'm thinking about getting a couple for a mixed freight.

I'm not sure on either. I would assume a lot of that is shipped into the area (Salt Lake City). I would wager though that since UP sends a lot of freight to LA and San Francisco through Salt Lake they might be in a freight train heading west.

There's one in the Shapeways catalog.  I don't recall which vendor but he offers many N scale freight cars.  Stoney something IIRC.  I bought one.  Something's not quite right about it but I haven't really done a deep dive to figure out what it is that bugs me.  Might just be me too.

Funny you should mention the AHM car.  The 4 bay?  I'm currently using it as a base to learn how to make parts via metal etching.  I like the car proportions even if its overall kind of a foobie.  It might be the metal work on the ends of the Shapeways CB car that bug me.  We'll see if I can do better.

Got mine today....

 - very nice
 - runs perfectly on Peco Code 55
 - roofwalks glued on unevenly - easy to fix - see this on IMRC cars too  (same factory???)

For anyone that has swapped wheelsets what FVM wheelsets are you using?  I tried some .540 28in wheelsets (cause I didn't have any 33in) and got a pretty bad wobble going down the track.  I am thinking of going up to the next size (.553) but wanted see if anyone got some different results with another size.

Was just looking at the La Plata webcam,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l06NXHeXIs8  which is still stuck on 8/14/18, and counted 6 of these cars in the westbound BNSF consist passing the cam at 18:57. WITX,TIMX, ----SRCX, ----CCRX(x2) and a CABX in one train. I had never noticed more than 1 or 2 in a consist there before.
