Finally managed to do a bit of work on the layout after months of nothing. Started ballasting and basic scenery! Glad to finally be at my favorite part.

Caleb.
Glad to see you back at work!  Look forward to seeing your progress.

I'm finally back at the layout.  Some benchwork today to finish the canyon scene.  it felt good to be cutting wood and building something new.

Glad to see you're back at it.  Love this layout.  Have you seen the Canadian Canyon series that MRR is doing in N Scale?

This weekend the NTrak Roadshow is at the Greater Toronto Trainshow. Got to run some passenger trains, so all around it was a good day!

A whole train worth of @Angus Shops resin kits. Only have a few left to finish...

Looks like there are a bunch of passengers in the mountain observation car today. There is even a guy snapping some pics out the back!

Single window and 2200 coaches on a trestle.

Also, @rapidotrains is there, and they brought some goodies!

If you are in the Toronto area tomorrow, come over and say hi!

I'll let @craigolio1 provide the full BiLevel update... but the good news is it wasn't a total flop!

I have a lifetime goal of having a model of every possible CSX paint scheme.

In honor of an article I'm about to submit....
Here is a fun one....

Jason:  I assume you've seen the two pictures in Scott Thompson's "GN Equipment Color Pictorial" from Four Ways West?  If not, they're not closeups, but do have more or less end-on and side-on pictures of the brake wheel mount.

Other than paint and weathering I completed the viaduct I was building. I experimented with a new vantage point, so here is the cab view from the eastbound Klamath a couple miles out of Union Station passing a westbound transfer to Brooklyn Yard behind a SW-8.

Lots of nice work posted here this weekend - we must be back in modelling season!

Caleb - good to see you back in action.
Frederick - I know how much work has gone into those passenger cars; wow.
Scott - good to see progress on your layout.

I have been moving several projects towards completion before year end, and prior to returning to work on the layout.

A Showcase Miniatures Chevrolet pick-up truck (painted by Jeff Briggs):

In honour of two friends and fellow PGE/BCR modellers, a Volvo station wagon (also painted by Jeff):

Two Intermountain cylindrical hoppers weathered and ready for the road:

Crane idler BCOL 6502 now in primer and ready for rivet decals:

Cat tool car BCOL 993032 now in MOW Yellow and ready for wood deck and decals:

And for my Provincial Museum Train project, boilers for the Climax locomotive and donkey engine:

Is that the 3D-printed proof-of-concept model of the TurboTrain?

It wasn't an awesome day! Thanks to the N-Trak Roadshow for inviting me to join them. I wish I could have stayed longer. I also wish I'd never seen True Scale couplers or MT Z scale couplers. I'm convert Big everything I own to Kadee #5s.

The Bombardier update is posted for those who are interested.

Getting back into N Scale after a couple of years off and finding it great to be able to come back to the Railwire to find little has changed. Always found the Weekend Update inspirational and it still is.

I love the fact that the detail now available is as good as HO was a few years ago but have reached a stumbling block. Was going to knock together a HCD layout with some unitrack (until i realised how much it would cost me for the track) but am finding that the low stocks of everything mean some of my plans are ruined. For example how do you run Modern CSX grain trains when you can't get any Intermountain grain cars anywhere for love or money (even EBay)? The same for coal cars although the Athearn Coalporters are still available.

I might end up defaulting back to the NS that i have instead of the CSX i want!

IMRC has 4750's in CSX announced for a February release, 4785's during first quarter 2018 and Trinity 5161 in Grain Express scheme for January.  Of course this is IMRC so not certain when they will actually show.

Atlas has done 4750's in CSX in a couple different runs recently and while not as detailed as the IMRC cars, are nice to fill a train.  ExactRail did the Grain Express scheme as well, but I did not like how they tracked so I ended up getting rid of them.  If you're on Facebook, there is someone selling off his fleet to fund wife's medical bills, has at least 7-8 IMRC ACF and PS2 CSXT cars, weathered nicely with metal wheels and original cases.  $22/each.
