Going On Year Four - IM SD40-2

I am going on year four now waiting for my order for the FIRST run of the IM SD40-2.  I'm getting a bit peaved, especially when I see that IM has now announced the SECOND run of this unit.  I am aware of the issues they had with the decoders but that has been resolved since late 2016.  When I ask my LHS about the order they keep saying they don't have any delivery date yet from IM.

Has anyone received their order from the FIRST run?

They shipped and sold a few months ago and Intermountain has announced several runs not just two  :D

What paint scheme did you order?

Yes, what road did you order ?  I got my CSX dark future from first run about this time last year I believe it was.

Well, maybe that's the problem, although my LHS certainly hasn't/won't mention it.  I ordered one in the two-tone green British Columbia Railway scheme.  Agreed it's no longer an existing railroad but that shouldn't matter.  An order is an order.  Maybe they're filling the orders from the larger market first  :?  I'd be interested in knowing if anyone in Canada has/had ordered a CN or CP unit from the first run and if they received it.

BC Rail wasnt in the first run.. That is from the fourth run iirc, and as previously mentioned they are shipping soon...

Yes the CP rail expo units and CN website units were delivered... I have personally seen the CP units :)

Then why was it shown in the advert. for the first run?  If it was to be available in the fourth run, I certainly would not have ordered it almost four year ago !  Did they screw up the ad or just fail to include it in the production?  Who knows.......  It's very frustrating when something is advertised and then doesn't show up in a reasonable length of time, unavoidable glitches notwithstanding.  So much for pre-ordering :x

It was announced in a later run and isn't delayed any more then any of the others were...

Thankfully you should be getting it soon...

At least its not as bad as the SD45-2's those took nearly 10 years from initial announcement to production...

They made multiple announcements of new roadnames month after month.  If I remember correctly, it was up to 52 different roads announced and still not a single one on the street for someone to see, hear, hold etc.

And the flyer of the initial run is dated Feb 2014 at the bottom, flyer of the release shipping this month is April 2014.

No worries.  It's an HO model in the picture.  It won't look near as bad from 3 feet away in N scale. 
I've got 2 Conrail supposedly still on order, and being shipped per Intermountain, from my LHS and a SOU one at another dealer waiting for me to pick it up at the next show.  Keepin' my hopes hopes up.

Ha, that's the same announcement the MKT locos were in....the hobby shop I preordered them from is out of business.   And I'm in a different scale.   :facepalm:
