Patience grasshoppers....wait, has anyone announced plans to do the old B and O Grasshopper loco?  Let's start a rumor!

Waiting for product does take patience, but I still find actually building a layout, working with fine parts, waiting for glue to dry, and trying to switch when pushing 20+ cars backwards through the ladder all require more patience.

I look at delays this way - it gives me 3-4 years to finish the layout to a level of completion worthy of my new acquisition.  After all, what realism does sound add if you don't have scenery?  (or track....or a layout......etc.)

I don't think it's unreasonable to for people to be upset that a product announced 4 years ago still hasn't arrived. There was a lot of complaining on here about the, what, a decade that BLI took to get the M1a done.

I don't reserve or pre order items and mainly because of issues like this. I'd like some of the IM value line corrugated gons in both MP schemes,  but I'm hesitant to reserve them somewhere when the time line for their delivery is entirely uncertain.

I didn't start this as a "whiner" thread.  I just wanted to know if anyone had received the first run locos from IM.  Sorry if it has degraded to that. I do admit to a bit of venting, however

My LHS has some on the shelf, so they are out there. Personally, I'm awaiting a few in MKT and MP.

Speaking for myself, I wasn't chiding you as a whiner, just trying to be upbeat.

The grasshopper joke owes to just having visited the B and O Railroad museum in Baltimore.  The "making my layout worthy" is an inside joke to myself....twice, I have had LHS owners make comments along those lines to me, which is an odd sales strategy by my former favorite LHS, LOL.

The last comment is somewhat specific, assuming you are going all out and getting sound. I did get a CSX with sound, and love it, but it strikes me as odd to worry about it, since my layout is currently the plywood central.  Of course, with the limited run mentality, if a loco we want comes out, I know we have to snap it up if we really want it, so some mismatches are going to occur.

Short version....it is what it is!
