I do want to add that aside from the issues noted, the model is truly stunning in terms of the details. It is clear that ST set their sights high with this one. Some of the separately applied details are so fine that it makes you wonder how they mass produced a model with such intricate details. The alternating ditch lights are a great addition, certainly lifts the bar up for other manufacturers. The model weighed nearly 4 OZ so should be a good puller. Speed was smooth in all speed steps except speed step 1.

I just counted 1048 Loksound equipped ST/GEVO units (~1300+  if DC models are included) in MBK ! WOW !

I know you said its a quick video, but next time throw some of that trademarked Full Throttle at us! :D

Now in the age of FT, hearing trains 'coast' uphill is like the difference between molded on and separately applied wire grab irons.

I got mine today, and didn't have much time to play with them. But I am very impressed with the little time I spent running them.
Leaving work today, there were four of these in the yard. I take that as a sign that I should order two more.  ;)

I fixed the direction and started cleaning up the programming mess. Mine weren’t programmed anything close to what the manual described. I’m glad they included the manual as I needed to reassign most of the sounds and functions. My issue now is I have one ditchlight on each engine that doesn’t work. It’s like the bulb is too low in the housing. A tiny bit of light comes out, but it still looks off. I contacted ST already, we’ll see what happens. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

I’ll give props to ScaleTrain. They are already helping me get it taken care of. Great customer service response.

How?  Cross ship a new one?  Coach you how to take it apart and fix it?  Programming?

I'm gonna come right out and say it: THIS IS A GAME-CHANGER. There were a couple things I noticed that I assumed were flaws, but later I realized I had to learn the product a little better (a few of them were attributed to the complex programming of the ESU decoders, which was new territory for me).

This model will now be the standard as to how other N scale locomotives will be judged. I have both Kato and Fox Valley ES44s, and, OMG, they both look like toys now compared to these!
