1966 Batmobile

With the recent news of Adam West's passing, I thought this was the appropriate time to post this photo of my 1966 Batmobile. This is a 3-D printed model from Shapeways (RapidPro). An enjoyable kit to work on...but painting all of the orange-red striping on the body was quite the challenge.

My story for this being on my layout is that as Batman got older and was approaching his retirement years, he wanted to move to a town that had less crime than Gotham City. Deer Grove on my layout turned out to be his choice for his new town. In this photo, he and the local police chief are having a meeting to discuss crime (at the Donut Shop, of course!)

I am also working on a Bat Signal that will go on the roof of one of the higher buildings in the town. It will light up, too! Using the searchlight from a Model Power flat car I found on eBay as the starting point for it.

Thanks,
Bart

Holy miniaturization.

I love it.  Great work.

You could stencil Adams above the West Side Café, and that could be the owners car.  :D

Very nice!

And just in case anyone is interested in the prototype, it started out as the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car.

Very very cool!

The only model of the Batmobile nearly that small I can remember seeing is an Aurora Model Motoring slot car.  But those were 1/87th (HO) scale.

That looks really fine, man.

So, what is the source of that tiny Batmobile? Was it scratchbuilt, or maybe Shapeways model?
