This 6-pin DCC plug capability has been around for years (in European models). It is nice to see that American companies are getting on board with this standard.  It is really nice plug-n-play install for simple 2-function decoders (since that it's only capable of by design).  Not ditch lights, beacons, etc.

I have not read the details of this release, but if Atlas follows its SW2 footsteps and also what Intermountain started doing then the decoder (sound and non-sound) will be a factory installed universal-fit board from ESU.

Yes. For one, BLI used them in their earliest N releases, before going 100% sound.

First time I've seen a 6-pin socket was an old Minitrix European electric loco made in late 80s or early 90s.  That was probably for their Selectrix decoders (but the pinout was the same).

GP38-2s already?..! If they announce GP7/9s with sound too I might have to switch to DCC sooner than I was hoping!

I see they are doing B&M # 200, I wonder if they will come with blue numberboards, a detail left over from this units time as a bicentennial unit. Before the Bicentennial, it was # 212, so actually # 200 never had the black numberboards, keeping the blue ones into the Guilford era..

IM NS SD40-2 coming in horse head scheme in sound, now Atlast GP38's in same scheme and sound  , very costly year on my Upper Lehigh Line....

There is a cut and paste error on our part.  The feature set should match the C628/630 announcement from March.  We are working on updating the information.  There is no 6 or 8 pin plug.
