Atlas C55 #10 Turnout Shortage? Again? [...sigh...]

So here I am, rolling right along on building the long-planned layout, go to order turnouts for the next section, and then ...bam!... unobtainium. LH are not available from my usual and very reliable source, and haven't been available for weeks. RH, sorta kinda available, but I depleted their restock of this week by 25% on my order today.

So I asked about LH, and "...we were told that Atlas has not yet released information regarding whether or not these will return to stock."

It's just #10s. #5s and 7s, no problem. The current need is probably going to be solved with a backup source, but that this major supplier does not know whether they will be restocked, well, that concerns me greatly.

Honestly I've switched over to using Peco when Atlas lost their production as we did.  I'm not really interested in super duper scale modeling at home...just want something bullet proof I can run around on without constant fidgeting or expensive switch machines.  I love their spring points and how hardy they are.  I feel for Atlas, trust me and hope this is just a delayed container and not another F-job in China.

And to my great pleasure it turns out Peco makes code 70 North American-style #5 turnouts in HOn3 that match Micro Engineering's tie spacing!

If only Peco would do their North American Line in N scale...

No Peco, and especially no Fast Tracks considering the scope of my layout. I'm very pleased with the Atlas #10s, they look great and run great, and I will be continuing with same. Just wanted to give a heads-up that we have supply issues again... and posting mostly to put pressure on the powers-that-be.

Just treat them much the same way that Ed does trees and knock out a few each night.

No supply problems. They are showing in stock in the Atlas store.  I can look into it more tomorrow when I am in the office.

If your LHS gets its products from Walthers, then that could be the reason.
According to the Walthers website, that item is "out-of-stock" and availability is shown as "No Info From Vendor".

If Atlas does indeed have some inventory on hand, Walthers doesn't seem to be aware of it.

FWIW, the track shipping schedule on the Atlas website shows no #10 turnouts due in during either February or
March.

Walthers isn't aware of a lot of things these days it seems.  My LHS still uses Walthers and the only thing I seem to be able to order is paint.  Everything else (decals etc) seems to be out of stock 9 times out of 10.  I am wondering if it's an N scale only thing?  The rumor's out there that Walthers says N scale does not sell.  The HO guys that go there seem to be able to get things.  I'm not switching scales to find out.

We are down to a few pieces in inventory right now, which explains why it shows in our store but distributors cannot get them.  We have several thousand on purchase order, I am working on getting a delivery date.

Its been said before but I'll say it again - you guys are really stepping up to the plate in N scale with both your information here, and your products.  We all really appreciate it.

Now PLEASE,for the love of King Cake and Crawfish - do a wide cab GP40L in N Scale repainted for KCS.
