Dang, those Arizona & California FA's sure are purdy! :o

Doug, the open door is a nice touch.  Great job!

Workin off their debt --- on the chain gang

Thanks,
Wolf

I really like this vignette!  However, you should have a three of 'em escaping over the little hill heading to catch a slow-moving freight while they're still chained up together!

Thanks, Bob!!  This means a lot to me!!

Yeah - to have Everette, Pete and Delmar escaping would be a cool touch. (That is one of my all time favorite movies). HMMMMM..... I'll get working on that.

Thanks for the idea,
Wolf

Love it! How about a gal washing a car (scene from "Cool Hand Luke")?
Way out here in Uncle Pete's land.....

I finished up this pair of Alco's for a friend that used to work for the railroad.  They did not have any Alco's on the roster, but his favorite is the FA and he always wanted to see the paint scheme applied to one.

Doug

Absolutely superb paintwork. Very striking and the masking was really well done. After you masked the white did your shoot white again to seal it?

I'd be nervous if they were unknown kids :-)
My youngest is 10 and that's his UP 844 (the passenger cars are mine). Half of what they are are their cars and they rarely run any of my locomotives. They've been asking for locomotives as birthday and Christmas gifts since Kindergarten. They are really good at handling them. Three years ago (at 9 years old), my older son helped an older modeler put a never run brass cab forward on the tracks. THAT made me nervous! He did a great job though. I've been training them to be N scalers since they were born :-) They first operated on the FreeMo-N layout at the 2011 NTS show in Sacramento at the ripe ages of 5 and 6....ran the place for 3 hours with only a single baloon track, a wye and two legs....3 trains!
You might recognize them from

One of the lessons in my house that I'm trying to drive home could be summed up as "Don't leave anything out that you don't want one of your 3 year old and/or 17 month old little sisters to find and destroy."

Outstanding paint work, and that paint scheme works well with the FA's boxy look.

Couldn't sleep late last night and wondered what the abandoned railroad was through Central Washington
near Ellensburg, WA. Can't believe it was the CM&SPP. The longest abandoned stretch of rail in U.S> history.

Great picss and read: http://newwww.weedroute.com/?p=8

Successfully decanted a spray can of "Old Cat" Yellow and shot it through my airbrush.
It went on a little thick, but it turned out okay.
I'll paint the seat black and maybe give it a black wash in the wheels, grill, and engine.

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I painted one of those up. I left it orange and weathered it up.

I did that, too, last summer.

But since I'm doing these as loads, they are best unweathered.
