Some DKS Love at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum

My wife and I just returned from a trip to San Diego. Our site-seeing included a trip to the San Diego Model Railroad Museum at Balboa Park. I saw this sign displayed there and had to share with the group.

Um... I don't think there was every any debate.  ;)

A "real model train".  None of our model trains are "real"....they're MODELS!  DKS's tiny model train was a model of an entire train, as opposed to most other scale's modeling individual cars and engines which get coupled up to form a train.  Model trains with permanently coupled cars and engines would fall into the same category as DKS's little model, so are there any additional doubters out there who consider THOSE model trains to not be "real"????

Get real....   :D

I thought DKS was "shockingly petite" when I first saw him. Then he got a lot larger when he pulled a gun on me, asked me to say his name, and said something about him knocking on hollow core door layouts.

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

DKS is the one who knocks.

Saw that with my own eyes at Rick Spano's. Dave also brought over his Z layout with the track made from wire, then plopped a T scale engine in my palm, not much larger than a couple raisins end to end.

Imagine DKS collaborating with John Allen to create a model railroad?

That vimeo video was actually sent out via a company email newsletter in the section of "cool things on the web" section, years ago.  I think we had a closet model railroader in IT!

I really miss Dave. Quiet, understated, always positive. And always an ocean of great ideas and talent.
