Do they have the RR's I want...yes.
Do they look nice...yes
Sound good..yes

But...wrong fricking size fuel tanks on the Milwaukee and Soo units..GRRRRRRR.

The HO ones have the proper size tanks. Yeah yeah I know the large tank accommodates the speaker.

All of the Milwaukee units had 3200 gallon tanks versus the 4000 gal.that came standard on MOST units. Soo also had 3200 gal tanks on at least some of their units, and the SD 38-2's also had the smaller tanks. Not positive, but Milw. & Soo both had a lot of branchlines with weight restrictions that could have been the reason. No idea about the 38's however. The Mile and Soo units in his signature are not correct, the correct gifs might not be available.

I looked at the imrc deuce page..artwork shows the smaller tanks on candy apple red Soo units.

You could move the speaker ..machine some to get the proto size fuel tank.

So all of this touting of prototype details is bullspit.
If that were true..the horn on the soo units would be mounted on the slope of the cab roof on the engineers side. And...the size of the tank..

Consider me officially jaded now.

I'm still having trouble with the number font on the Soo units... Ugly... lol...

They're an okay starting point, but need work and are nowhere near the tooling quality of the Atlas GP40 (the gold standard for second generation EMD models in N IMHO)

A really good friend purchased a sound equipped unit for me as a gift, he can't get the prime mover sound to work. Everything else does, cept no vroom vroom.

Send it back?
Keep it and trouble shoot it?
Make it sleep with the fishes?

I've left comments on their YouTube page about the focus issues. I suspect the slinky is due to running a short train of unmodified factory coupler equipped cars.

As for the Loco - I don't have a horse in this race until they release the KCS grey, but if the tank differences were that noticeable - yeah there's a swing and a miss.

I'd try a factory reset of the decoder.

+1, if it runs and has other sound, it is a decoder programming issue.  When in doubt, reset.  That has been the advice for everything electronic in the world for the past three decades

Maybe the prime mover volume is not set right.
He/we have reset back to default with both jmri and digitrax command station with a 402D

Oh well..maufactures wonder why we as consumers have attitudes.  Go fricking figure.

A factory reset would restore the prime mover volume.  You might want to consider sending it back under warranty repair.

I'm still having trouble with the number font on the Soo units... Ugly... lol...

IM has seemed to always struggle getting mid-west artwork correct.  I stopped buying decorated locomotives from them in 2011 because of it.  I still do say something if I notice it at announcement but have never really followed up to see if it got corrected.
