Single B units are powered with sound.  B units that come with A's are dummies.  So it is possible to get a ABA set with all powered/sound, but it's not cheap.

That got me thinking. They could have really hit one out of the park if they did an Alco FA1 or FA2. We have not had a good quality FA in over a decade. Walters seems to be unveiling to rerun those and I don't even think they were DCC compatible.

Attention BLI: Put you $ into developing N scale Little Joes, instead of GG1s. Now THAT would be a coup ($$$$$$$$$$$$$) for you!!!!

Noooooo!!!!  :D with our luck they would be 500$ each come with F7 noses and solid pantographs  ;) ;) ;)

I really hope that a Joe will be in Kato's future, I'd buy the fleet... only issue would be deciding on which era/paintscheme...

PS not sure who downvoted that, no love for The Road?  :D

There are some very trigger-happy members here (or possibly we have several random-clickers here who don't even realize what they are doing).

Surprised that no one mentioned that N Scale Supply is the first to begin taking preorders for the F3s, F7s, T1s, M1a and M1b locos.

That's odd since the M1a/b were released some months ago.  What is also interesting is that on BLI's "In Stock" page, updated Oct 17, there are NO M1a/b's listed in stock.  Just the week before they had between 12 and 20+ units of each number listed as in stock.  I wonder if there was a buying rush when the catalog came out or if some distributor refilled their stock?  Or did BLI move them over to the FDT side as "refurbished"?  There are still quite a few of the latest ALCo PA releases left - none were mentioned in the catalog so I expect they are done doing those for a while.

Well, they are selling a painted, unlettered version.  So long as you like DGLE...

I'm not an SPF, but I love the look of the T1.  How many demerits do I risk for putting it on the head-end of the Kato Broadway consist?

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Not too many.  According to the info the Kato BL is a 50's version - most of which was actually introduced in 1949 and therefore could have been pulled by a T1 although the T1's were being replaced by the E8's at the time.  Passenger consists aren't really my thing so I'm sure others have better info.

I got a BLW newsletter today stating that they would be posting information about the Broadway Limited PRR T1 late next week and taking reservations for a 2017 delivery.  I don't know if Pete knows something concrete or is assuming based on the fact that the catalog is labeled "2016-2017".

I guess we may know more in a week or so.
