I remember when the 4449 was painted for the BNSF excursions... wonder if Kato will also offer some BNSF passenger cars to go along with it.  Some of BNSF's business car fleet is already well represented from Kato's other offerings, might just make for a nice set...

I really hope so, as I have wanted one of these things since it went down the tracks. Wonder if they will do a BNSF C44-9W #4449 with it, as it was part of the consist too.

And here is yet another opportunity for someone to step up and do DLMX 4219, both in black pinstripes for this and the daylight version. Could only hope possibly that @scaletrains would be interested.

As I recall, Rapido did a few BNSF executive cars about a year or two ago. I imagine those would go well with this new GS4, yes?

It's not a new idea.  Chessie and Conrail had "hopper toppers" sometime in the late 70's/early 80's.  My guess it the grain embargo back around 1980 helped doom the idea then.  But with a good amount of equipment idled, why not bring the idea back.

This is by no means a new way to utilize Thessaloniki cars. In 2005, we had to put in a couple new signal houses one big when 15 of these derailed when they were being shoved in the yard. The next day, was interesting with the ripe smell of mash from a pile 40' high and God knows how wide.

No, the four that Rapido did were all BN Executive creme/green colored cars. Least those are the only ones I know of.

Majority of the cars were stainless steel types, minus the support car and the 4 ex-SP hi-level commuter cars. I'm still trying to find the correct consist of what was there for those trips.

Heck, in my original post I said there was 2 paint schemes for the auxiliary water tender, technically there is 3 different ones. The BNSF logo'd/pinstripes, the daylight, and the one after the BNSF one that had "Let's Roll" and the American flag on it. It's ran behind SF 3751

Yes! Or the 2926, it's being restored in Albuquerque.

They already did those, the autoracks for Amtrak.

Probably get the BN sets to run as empties, unless loads are cheap.
